Throughout my life I have had several careers. The most meaningful and life changing has been creating music, and working in the healthcare field as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Mental Health Empowerment Coach.

As an L.M.T. and Coach, I have seen for myself many profound life changes and the positive effects that healing therapeutic touch, and the influence thoughts and the spoken word have on our mental and physical health.

I feel led to work with those who experience bullying, and other abuse, because I understand in a personal way the long term negative effects of abuse and bullying.

I am a miracle. I should have died a long time ago.

I started out making music, after a prayer for peace, healing, and purpose after escaping a relationship with a bully that I allowed to convince me I was worthless.

I had lost faith in everything, then I did the unthinkable, I attempted suicide.

Shocking? It should be.

There is no denying this truth is one of the effects of bully behavior.

That is why I believe we must take action and get more in the public eye with intervention.

Everyone can relate to music.

Bully is defined, to seek to harm, intimidate, or coerce someone perceived as vulnerable.

We know that bullying can happen anywhere.

The bullying I experienced started at home.

I pretended everything was fine.

I put on a smile and did what most of us do, survive the best we could, but inside I was miserable and started to get depressed.

Through the years, I wasn't just bullied, I was the bystander, and I became a bully. I spent time in various types of counseling and modalities to help heal my past trauma.

I began to study bullying and the dynamics of family bullying.

Some of the long-term effects of bully behavior is isolation, depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol use and abuse, self-harm, mental illness, PTSD, OCD, anxiety disorder, difficulties in relationships, adapting and even some who resort to criminal behavior, and suicide.

Many of those who are bullied feel ashamed and even sometime those who bully.

Admitting to an offense and dispelling shame is the most difficult thing for survivors of any type of abuse to overcome.

I know healing takes time.

I understand how devastating bullying can be.

If I had died that day, I would have missed out on the gifts that awaited me.

I don’t want to sit silently, while I see on the news about another child being bullied to death, or someone committing suicide because they  were afraid to speak out.

Together, we can be part of the solution.

Fear keeps us hostage. Secrets kill.

When we speak our truth, reveal secrets, we take back our power.

Together, we CAN...
